Investigating Earth from Above
Examine the Earth’s dynamic processes using satellite imagery on your home computer. Join us for a new program that takes the DIY (Do-It-Yourself) movement to a whole new level! Learn how to make your own movie using NASA and NOAA satellite images and gain a better understanding of the Earth's rhythms. We'll uncover the seasonal variations of ocean temperatures and changes in summer arctic ice coverage. Then we'll add in some local data, such as hawk migration counts or Spring peeper vocalizations, and who knows what we’ll uncover! We'll share our findings on the Museum’s new 3-D Dynamic Globe. This new program uses a study-group model where you'll share your research and lead discussions. As part of the Museum’s Dynamic Earth project, this course is funded in part with a grant from NASA. Montshire members $75, non-members $85, limited to 8 participants. Register online. Montshire Museum of Science, One Montshire Road, Norwich, Vermont 05055.
